Children's desk and chair from the baumann manufactory, in beech, very good condition, painted in velvety lichen. The desk has a box articulated by hinges in excellent condition and a fine porcelain inkwell. H: 62/66 cm - lg: 60 cm - prof: 44 cm chair dimensions: ht seated: 37.5 cm - lg: 31 cm - prof: 32 cm. The baumann manufacture was a furniture manufacturing company. It was one of the most prominent companies in the chair market in the twentieth century. Created in 1901 by the swiss émile baumann, it manufactured children's chairs in colombier-fontaine. He strongly developed the bentwood technique. Managed for a time by the son walter baumann, it reached its peak in the 1970s with six hundred employees. The company had diversified by manufacturing chairs for famous bistros, called "baumann" chairs, of a particular design.
