Green glass vase number 1379 by tamara aladin for riihimaen lasi oy finnish design, 1970s good condition, slight traces of age height: 20 cm riihimaki glassworks founded in 1910 in riihimaki, finland, by ma kolehmainen and his son ap kolehmainen. They initially produced container glass, bottles and window panes. In 1927, after purchasing the kaukalahti glassworks, it became the largest glassworks in finland and was renamed riihimaen lasi oy in 1937. Designers aimo okkolin and then helena tynell, nanny still in 1949, tamara aladin in 1959 worked in this glassworks and produced many iconic models. In 1968, erkkitapio siiroinen started working there as an independent designer. In 1988, after being acquired by ahlstrom, riihimaki merged with karhula of ahlstrom riihimaen lasi oy and the riihimaki factory closed in 1990.
