Costes armchair with a black lacquered tubular steel frame, a bent plywood shell with a mahogany finish, and a fixed cushion filled with foam and upholstered in black leather. An icon of 1980s design, it remains one of Philippe Starck's most emblematic creations. Designed in the 1980s for Café Costes in Paris, it was conceived to facilitate the work of the staff, notably with only three legs allowing for easier cleaning and improved server movement.
