Sarreguemines rockingham sugar bowl

Lovely sugar bowl in black enamelled earthenware from the french earthenware factory of sarreguemines, "rockingham" model decorated with arabesques, foliage and flowers in tones of gold, blue, yellow and orange. At the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century, ceramics produced in england were very popular in france. To respond to this craze, the sarreguemines earthenware factory produces certain pieces which will be covered with a black slip inspired by the "victoria" model tea and coffee services created especially for the queen by the gibson & son earthenware factory. Height: 13.5 cm length with handles: 15.5 cm width: 13 cm signed under the base. Slight wear to the gilding. A restoration inside the lid.
