Napoleon III Style Silver Fish Serving Cutlery Set

Period: ca. Late 19th century this is an elegant serving cutlery set consisting of a fish knife and fork. The stems are hallmarked silver while the beautifully engraved fork and openwork knife blade are traditionally silver plated. The stems are also richly decorated. The service is in the late 19th century napoleon III style. The hallmarks (on the stems, just below the serving elements) are present but completely illegible; other almost identical sets have a minerva hallmark indicating a silver content of the highest grade. Condition: good and usable. Some signs of use. Dimensions: 29 and 33 cm long, ± 6 cm wide.
