Elegant antique flat plate in ironstone, from the Clairefontaine S&G (Sanejouand & Gaves) factory, Louis XV model. Stamped "Terre de Fer ~ S&G Louis XV", with the famous marine anchor, thus dating the manufacture around 1889-1890. The Clairefontaine factory was originally a monastery and began producing ceramics and earthenware in the 18th century in Franche-Comté, in eastern France. Jules Sanejouand joined forces with his son-in-law Léon Graves to create the company Sanejouand et Cie, which became Sanejouand-Graves in 1889. This creamy ivory-colored earthenware is decorated by chocolate transfer with a musical composition with roses. The earthenware paste is siliceous and the glaze is boracic. Perfect for completing a collection, decorating a kitchen with old-world charm or enhancing a reception table. Diameter 24 cm. Very good vintage condition, some slight traces of age, no shine. An authentic piece that combines history and elegance, to give your table the character of a family home.
