Superb pair of Lyra armchairs by Poltrona Frau, a historical model designed by Renzo Frau and presented in its fully leather-upholstered version in the Poltrona Frau catalogue in the 1930s. These are numbered reissues by Poltrona Frau, not armchairs made in the 1930s. Each armchair has its numbered Poltrona Frau metal plaque, visible in the photos, as well as the Poltrona Frau branded inner fabric under the seat cushions. Fully dressed in a beautiful burgundy leather, they feature the characteristic elements of the Lyra model: rounded backrest, generous and enveloping armrests, wooden legs, and a backrest finish highlighted by a row of leather-covered studs. Both armchairs also come with their perforated leather lumbar cushion "Frau". The leather shows a lovely patina and some signs of use consistent with their age. One of the armchairs has a small mark/tear in the leather near the back plaque, visible in the photographs. Overall, they remain in very good condition, with a nice colour and presentation consistency between the two armchairs. A particularly decorative pair, combining the historical craftsmanship of Poltrona Frau with an Art Deco/1930s aesthetic, while easily integrating into a contemporary interior. Designer: Renzo Frau. Publisher: Poltrona Frau. Model: Lyra. Origin: Italy. Upholstery: leather. Colour: burgundy. Era: numbered reissue of the historical model. Sold only as a pair.
