Black Forest carved wooden wall console, dog decor, folk art circa 1900

This old wall harness is in carved black forest walnut. It represents a dog, in full, in front of its kennel, in a decoration of foliage, sculpted by hand. In the 19th century, these naturalistic sculptures from the black forest were very fashionable and highly prized. The sculptors excel in particular in the representation of wild animals in their natural environment. This tradition of woodworking is an ancestral folk art. This charming wall console is authentic and rare. It is in good condition, has no defects, the wall part has been glued in its height (see photo) but it is barely visible.
