Art Deco club armchair in wood and rust brown velvet, circa 1930.

Antique club armchair in Art Deco style, likely dating from the 1930s-1940s, featuring a visible solid wood structure combined with a rust brown velvet upholstery. Its low, enveloping silhouette is distinguished by its two wide, rounded armrests, with wooden supports that create a continuous curve down to the floor. The slightly inclined backrest and the generous removable seat cushion give it the welcoming proportions characteristic of interwar salon armchairs. The outer faces of the armrests are fully upholstered in fabric, highlighted by a border of domed upholstery nails. The wood, possibly walnut, displays a beautiful natural patina, with tonal variations, signs of use, and small irregularities that testify to its age. The velvet, with warm reflections ranging from brown to rust depending on the light, adds softness and depth, creating a very warm character overall. The seat is comfortable and enveloping. The armchair retains a beautiful overall appearance and is elegant from all angles, including the back. Its profile, with its long curved wooden armrests, is particularly expressive. Some marks and irregularities are visible on the wooden parts, especially at the joints of the armrests and on the legs, as well as very slight signs of use (considering its age) on the fabric, in accordance with the photographs. These features contribute to the authentic character of this antique piece. With its curved lines and warm materials, it will find its place in a living room, library, reading nook, or an interior combining Art Deco, vintage, and contemporary furniture.
