Folding armchair attributed to André Monpoix, a piece of modernist design. Tubular structure in finely chromed metal, creating a silhouette that is both light and architectural. The structure is supported by legs finished with black caps. The lines are controlled, light, almost architectural — a subtle balance between functionality and aesthetics. The armchair is elegant, embodying the purity of French modernist design. Seat and backrest with upholstery in faux leather, a hallmark material of vintage years, which was quite an expensive covering at the time. A very discreet flaw, see photo. Fawn colour (brown-orange). Foldable, it combines sophistication and practicality, making it a piece that is as beautiful as it is intelligent. The whole reflects a quest for purity and functionality characteristic of post-war modernism, where each element finds its place with clarity. An object that is both sculptural and utilitarian, this armchair fits well in both contemporary interiors and classic decor. Stable and solid, the armchair folds very easily. Some signs of wear and use that remain discreet overall; the seat is in very good condition for its age. Mid-Century period, 1950 - 1960. Vintage era.
