S09 bench in solid oak by Pierre Chapo – 1970s

Bench model S09 designed by Pierre Chapo, French production from the 1970s. Made of solid elm, this bench perfectly illustrates Pierre Chapo's work with wood and traditional joinery. Its deliberately understated line highlights the material, featuring a wide top with beautiful warm hues and remarkable visible joinery at the ends. The structure rests on two legs connected by a long low crossbar, giving the whole piece a silhouette that is both light, graphic, and particularly robust. The wood shows a beautiful patina and pronounced grain. It is in good condition, with some traces, marks, and variations in colour consistent with its age and use, visible in the photographs. These marks contribute to the authentic character of the piece.
