This walnut flat desk, in the Louis-Philippe style, dates from the early 20th century. It charms with its discreet elegance and balance between simplicity and refinement. The top, featuring a beak-shaped edge, is covered in green leather. The leather has a golden vignette running along its edges, and a delicately embossed golden motif in the centre adds a touch of distinction to the whole piece. The desk's apron houses two spacious drawers, each equipped with its own key, allowing for the secure storage of documents or personal items. The drawer fronts are moulded and understated, highlighting the purity of the lines typical of the Louis-Philippe style. The legs are particularly well-crafted: the turned feet are adorned with stopped fluting, finishing in toupies. This piece of furniture has a classic appearance that combines functionality and aesthetics, while showcasing the craftsmanship of the era. ******** Period: Early 20th century.
