A sleek Temde table lamp from the 1970s. The round, drum-shaped shade of white opaline glass rests on a brushed steel tube with a heavy, round base. On the underside is the type plate with the logo of Temde Leuchten, the Swiss manufacturer of modernist lighting. This lamp is architectural yet friendly: the opaline glass gives a soft, warm light without dazzling. It is typical Swiss design, without superfluous details. Beautiful in a mid-century, Bauhaus or minimalist interior, on a sideboard, side table or desk. Also a lovely contrast in a country home. Condition: good, working. The opaline glass shade has no visible chips or cracks. The metal mounting plate under the shade has rust and oxidation spots; the steel base and tube have light scratches and signs of use. Felt pads under the base. Dimensions: diameter 25 cm, height 40 cm. Material: opaline glass, steel. Maker: Temde Leuchten, Switzerland, 1970s.
