Series of 8 chairs DSS Charles Eames for Herman Miller, 1970

Legendary eames dss (dining side on stacking base) chairs. This is a version of the 1970s where herman miller produced the chairs and vitra europe broadcast them. Stackable, the dss was designed in 1955 and equipped a multitude of stadiums, schools and hospitals. Probaly the most emblematic of the eames chairs. The off-white fiberglass shells are in excellent condition. The shock mounts are original. One chair features the herman miller logo and all the shells the vitra "v" molded in fiber. Testifies to the association between hermann miller and vitra in the 70s for production in germany for the european market. The black chrome bases as well as the off-white leather seams are in very good condition. The fiberglass shells are coated with coral-colored hopsack fabric no fabric tearing, but age-related marks and traces of wear on the hopsack.
