Starting from 1951, the American-Japanese artist and designer Isamu Noguchi designed the Akari Light Sculptures. For these objects he chose the name "Akari", a Japanese word meaning "light". The shade of this lamp is made of Shoji paper, which comes from the bark of the mulberry tree. Each lamp is entirely handcrafted in the Ozeki factory in Gifu, a traditional family business. The lamp is 25 cm high and has a diameter of 45 cm. The lamp has a signature and the original box.
