AGT Sugar Bowl, mid-century modern, transparent glass

The sugar bowl from the 1960s represents Polish mid-century modern design through the combination of transparent, polished glass with silver-plated brass. The body of the vessel is made of thick glass with a geometric, diamond pattern that effectively disperses light and gives the item a three-dimensional character. The metallic, silvery frame surrounds the glass, creating a solid, round base and a large, curved handle with textured finishing at the top. The proportions are harmonious, and the entire piece is maintained in a cool, silver tone. Minor signs of patina on the metal highlight its vintage authenticity, while the glass remains free of chips and cracks. The condition is very good: minimal signs of use on the metal, glass in undamaged condition. The form of this sugar bowl carries the spirit of Polish 1960s – a time when pragmatism and economical expression combined with a subtle pursuit of everyday elegance. The transparent glass brings out light, evoking the image of a hospitable table where coffee and tea were a daily ritual. The metal band, with a delicate sheen and traces of past gatherings, tells the story of an item designed to combine durability with decorativeness – as if reminding us that even a simple detail can be an atmosphere carrier of home warmth. The sugar bowl is suitable for both intimate tea times and as a distinctive accent on a modern serving tray. It can be matched with porcelain from the epoch, colored glass, or minimalist ceramics to enhance the geometric pattern and the cool of the silvered metal. It fits well in a living room maintained in the spirit of mid-century modern, among veneered furniture and simple forms. As a vintage collection element, it can serve as a subtle focal point on a shelf or in a glass cabinet, as well as a vessel for serving small sweets during gatherings in a small group.
