Victorian writing desk in rosewood, richly inlaid with various precious woods and ivory. Attributed to James Shoolbred, circa 1880. James Shoolbred & Co. was recognised as one of the leading suppliers of high-quality Victorian furniture and received a royal warrant in the mid-1880s. The desk features a marble top and is adorned with decorative mounts in gilded bronze. Origin: England. Date: late 19th century.
