A set of a small dining table and four matching chairs, attributed to uno åhrén for gemla, sweden. Uno emrik åhrén was a swedish born architect, who greatly influanced the functionalism movement in sweden. He was a co writer of the "acceptera" manifest, a plea for acceptance of functionalism, standardization, and mass production as a cultural change in sweden. He was city planning manager in gothenburg 1932-1943 and head of the riksbyggen 1943-1945, and was appointed professor of urban construction at the royal institute of technology from 1947 through 1963. The measurements stated are of the table. The chairs are 79.5 cm high with a seat height of 43 cm. The set is in a good vintage condition. The construction is solid, but the wood has collected marks and stains throughout it´s long life. We decided to keep the original finish with it´s beautiful patina. More detailed pictures can be provided on request.
