Pierre D'Avesn France molded crystal ashtray

Art deco period, this molded crystal ashtray signed "p d'avesn france" in good condition. Ideal for pocket empty or clipboard on a desk. Careful shipping and followed in relay point when possible. Ref. 2218 - for information, this sculptor made art deco models and decorations in glass and art crystal molded to the press. His real name is "pierre girre". He received training at the ecole des arts décoratifs in paris where the master glassmaker françois-emile decorchement (1880-1971) taught. René lalique (1860-1945) hired him at the age of 14 and remained in his company for 10 years. In 1926, he worked for his own account by creating his own models. His pieces were made by the cristallerie de saint-rémy. In 1930, he joined daum to develop the production of press molded glass. In 1937, he took over the management of verlys. From 1940, he worked alone by making his pieces at the cristallerie de choisy-le-roi (sèvres).
