This French workbench dates from the period between 1950 and 1970. It is made of solid beech and retains its original vice on the left side. The 5 cm thick top features a simple and functional design. Beneath the top are an open shelf and a lockable storage compartment with a hinged lid, providing practical space for tools or household items. Originally designed as a carpenter's workbench, it can also serve as a console, kitchen island, washstand, or side table. The original vice is still present, as well as the retailer's badge "Bazar de l’Hôtel de Ville (BHV), Paris, " indicating that the workbench was originally sold in this famous Parisian department store. The workbench is solid and stable and shows normal signs of age and use, including marks, scratches, wear, and age-related shrinkage cracks on the top, all consistent with its history and use.
