Rare raak wall lamp model c-1515/2 made at raak, amsterdam, 1962. I quote, ‘an opal glass cylinder, supported by the sleek wall arm of lacy rectangles on a square base, symmetrical, clean-lined and well-proportioned’. Mr lockhorn (director and founder of raak) knew it was important to employ good designers. In raak catalogue 5 (which includes these lamps), the designers listed are frank ligtelijn (netherlands), tapio wirkkala, (finland), nanny still-mackinney (finland). So unique lamps by now famous designers of raak, amsterdam. The condition is still very good, normal traces of use (see photos). Material: metal and glass. Colour; bronze colour and white. Dimensions: h X w X d = 32 X 24 X 14 cm. The glass chalices were then made at the famous iittala, some are still marked (see photo), iittala, finland. Source raak catalogue 5, page 132, 1962.
