Amazigh rug

Ancient handmade Berber rug, red and blue medallion. Magnificent traditional Berber rug, entirely hand-knotted in wool. The bright red central field highlights a large blue geometric medallion with stylised floral patterns (purple, white, and sky blue rosettes), framed by multiple richly decorated borders: pink and cream floral frieze, floral garland on a blue background, band of multicoloured rosettes, and an outer border with zigzag patterns. A palette of bright and contrasting colours typical of Berber craftsmanship (red, blue, pink, green, yellow, ivory), with natural fringes at both ends. A small defect (frayed wool) on the right side fringe, see photo, due to normal wear. P.S.: The rug has been cleaned before being stored.
