Old earthenware jug, late 19th century - South West

Ancient jug (pitcher) in glazed terracotta, popular art from the South-West of France, late 19th to early 20th century. Rounded body and characteristic ribbed neck, original shiny brown/amber glaze. Decorative frieze of small pressed hatching encircling the top of the body. Turned base with clearly visible turning marks. Authentic utilitarian piece (for oil or water), with patina and small signs of use reflecting its age — no cracks, just a chip on the neck (photo). Beautiful piece of rustic tableware, decorative in the kitchen or as a collector's item.
