Antique Bronze Gilt Vide-Poche, France by Max Le Verrier - signed on the back M. Le Verrier/ adorned with an Ancient scene dated 652 BC depicting the attack of a chariot by lions - Decor featuring Ashurbanipal, the last warrior king of Assyria, on a chariot and attacked by two lions. - From the 1930s/1940s - Maxime Le Verrier, more commonly known as Max Le Verrier, was a French sculptor. He was known for being a pioneer within the Parisian Art Deco movement, creating decorative art objects often made of bronze as well as historical sculptures. Max Le Verrier was also known by the pseudonym Artus (1891-1973) - Dimensions/Length X Maximum Width 15 X 8 cm. Net weight 277 g. Very good vintage condition with a beautiful patina of time.
