Superb hand-coloured rhino engraving at the time from a buffon edition. Here a single illustration engraved on the page, rare. Note the subtlety of the background (the trees) that appear more tenuous in their colors, corresponding to a veiled photographic background. Original extremely well preserved. The beautiful illustrated specimens of these period editions are becoming rare now. Beautiful once framed. Generous format: 17, 5 x 28 cm.
