Charlotte Perriand, famous French architect and designer, was known for her minimalist furniture inspired by the mountains and Japan. She believed that good design contributed to a better society by eliminating what was not necessary to create functional living spaces. His visionary design for the Les Arcs ski resort in France is beautifully represented in this two-door wall unit. It combines the charm of solid pine, laminate and lacquered panels. The cabinet top features a green laminate surface framed with sturdy solid pine edging. The doors and sides are elegantly covered in white lacquered veneer, enhanced by two solid pine handles. It comes from the Arcs 1800 station and was designed for the Les Belles Challes-Lauzières residences in 1973. Bibliographic: Charlotte Perriand, Œuvres Complètes, Volume 4, by Jacques Barsac.
