French Vintage Breton Chandelier Hand-Carved Figures Well & Lantern Lights. A striking mid-century French vintage Breton wooden chandelier, richly carved and full of regional character. The design centres on a spindled wooden wheel adorned with four hand-carved figures, two ladies and two men each dressed in traditional Breton costume, lending the piece a sculptural, folk-art quality. Four elegantly curved arms extend from the wheel, each supporting a hanging lantern-style light, complemented by an additional central light positioned at the base for balanced illumination. Adding to its charm is a wishing-well motif integrated into the design; the original bucket is unfortunately missing, though this does little to detract from the chandelier’s strong visual presence and authenticity. The chandelier is suspended from a large spindle-style wooden ceiling fitter and supported by four gold-tone metal chains. The light has its original 2 core wiring and it takes 4 E14 screw-in bulbs. The chandelier is in very good vintage condition, with a beautifully aged patina that reflects its age and adds to its authentic character.
