Tea and coffee service in flamed stoneware with a pink and dark brown glaze, featuring iridescent effects and sea foam. Crafted by an artisanal workshop in "Vallauris." Flamed stoneware refers to stoneware covered in glazes that partially mix and run during firing, creating effects of flames, clouds, or sea foam. The service is therefore unsigned, but the style, colour, shape of the pieces, and the artisanal method (entirely handmade) leave little doubt that the service was produced in the French town of Vallauris in the 1960s. The effects of pink glaze, metallic brown, and "sea foam" give it a very distinctive personality, typical of this period of experimentation with glazes. It features "crazing" (crazing from firing), caused by a slight difference in expansion between the ceramic body and the glaze during cooling. This phenomenon is very common in certain Vallauris productions from the 1950s to 1970s and in reactive or flamed glazes. The "cracks" you see in some photos (notably the close-up of the saucer with sunlight reflecting on it) are therefore normal and intentional and are not defects! 1 teapot (without lid): 18 cm in height and 10 cm at the neck. 1 coffee pot: H 23.5 cm, diameter at the neck 9 cm. 6 cups and 6 saucers: saucer diameter 13.6 cm, cup diameter 7.2 cm and height 7.6 cm.
