Cantilever Bauhaus Armchair S-411, Thonet, 1930s, Czechoslovakia

This iconic 1930s Bauhaus armchair was designed by Thonet and produced by Mücke-Melder factory in Czechoslovakia under an official licence. It features a chrome cantilever frame with distinctive wooden side accents. The upholstery has been renovated using a durable, soft, green, woven fabric with a distinctive geometric pattern. The original springs and seagrass have been preserved. The metal frame is rusted most notably at the bottom. The wooden armrests are made of beech and have been renovated.
