Art nouveau vase of the airain thulin faïencerie in belgium (1887-1973). This beautiful glazed stoneware vase with 2 handles is decorated with a cobalt blue, green and yellow drop glaze. The thulin pottery near mons was founded in 1887. It is installed by the industrialist victor ducobu-decaudin in a former sugar factory. With significant capital, he transformed the buildings and introduced three coal furnaces and a steam engine. Victor ducobu died in 1897, his two children became owners. The company name is faïencerie de thulin-a.ducobu et cie. Between the two world wars, the factory employed 70 to 100 workers. It manages to sell its products in belgium but also in paris where a eugène val dealer installed faubourg saint martin ensures the distribution. The objects are made by pouring in fine earthenware and covered with glazes or colored enamels. The products are often marked made in belgium, faïencerie thulin or for the smallest objects made in belgium ft, sometimes only made in belgium or belgium but sometimes they are also unbranded.
