Description
Vintage trestle desks. Old trestles of carpenter-cabinetmaker, from the 40s, in their original patina, drilled on the 2 crosspieces to place a jack to strike. Trestles pegged in the old-fashioned way. And not screwed. Friendly folk art pieces and in very good condition despite the weather. The clamping jack made it possible to securely block a workpiece. It could replace some clamping presses, especially when it came to long elements. The piece was properly placed between the tray and the valet. The tightening was done by striking on the head of the valet with a wooden mallet. To unlock the piece, it was enough to strike at the back of the jack's head or laterally on the rod that protruded from the board. Trestle width 110 cm, trestle height 79 cm, foot spacing 44 cm, top cross width 12 cm. Varnished coated tray. Possibility to put another tray, glass or plexiglass, for the beauty and originality of the trestles.
