Turpe chair No. 31 from 1900, caned - bentwood - origin Germany

Turpe's bentwood chairs are well known in Alsace-Lorraine for having been introduced there during the annexation between 1871 and 1914, the Alsatians and the Mosellans still use them. The factory opened in 1868 and was still working in 1937, see attached catalog. We offer here a model not known at Turpe to this day, it is an almost exact copy of the n°31 by Thonet, a beautiful chair, opulent, elegant. The curves of the rear legs are more pronounced than on the Thonet model. It is in perfect condition, the caning is recent. A good part of the labeling is under the seat.
