Pair of tall ceramic table lamps designed by Marianne Starck for the Danish ceramic workshop Michael Andersen & Søn (MA&S) on the Danish island Bornholm. Made around the 1960s. The lamp base features a stylised leaf or flower decor in blue and grey. The glaze has a crackle pattern which is part of its expression. It is the so-called Persia glaze, developed at Michael Andersen & Søn by Daniel Andersen in the 1930s. MA&S won a gold medal for this at the World's Fair in Brussels in 1935. The lamps are fully marked on the bottom. Both lamp bases are in very good condition. Dimensions: Height 37.5 cm, width and depth 13 cm.
