Mid-century modern jug, cobalt double-layered glass, designed by K. Gorski, Poland, 1970s

A jug designed by Kazimierz Gorski for HSG Tarnów is an example of Polish glass design from the 1970s, made of double-layered glass. The dominant colour is deep cobalt, which subtly transitions to a lighter shade at the base, complemented by a shiny, almost mirror-like finish. The transparent handle and decorative element made of the same material, enriched with a series of glass bubbles, contrast with the organic shape of the vessel. The form—bulbous at the base, narrowing into a slender neck with a gently flared spout—is typical of Polish designs from this period, where bold colour and playful details meet functionality. Small air bubbles, characteristic of hand-blown glass, are visible on the surface. The jug is in good condition: no cracks or chips, with minimal signs of use typical for its age.
