Ulvö sideboard proj. Erik Wörtz for Ikea 60/70

The Ulvö chest of drawers designed by Erik Wörtz for Ikea in the 1960s Ikea was still a local company producing very high quality furniture. Projects from this era are highly appreciated by design connoisseurs and lovers. The proposed chest of drawers (veneered with a noble walnut) is a timeless modernist design with a beautiful form characterized by perfect proportions, sophisticated details (round door handles, grooves of the lower edges of the drawers, shape of the legs, etc.) and high quality of the materials used (solid wood, carpentry cardboard and plywood). The furniture was preserved in very good condition – it had no mechanical damage, cracks, etc. It has undergone a professional renovation to the highest standards (cleaning exterior and internal surfaces, adjusting hinges and wooden drawer guides, protecting the wood, etc.). The priority was to effectively “refresh” the chest of drawers while retaining its “vintage” character.
