Nice ceramic pot with its lid, called according to some sources ginger pot, with a charming blue decoration, highlighted with black, on a white background. The marking below indicates that it was hand painted in portugal, possibly from the alcobaca pottery (i found a jar stamped alcobaca with identical patterns). There is also a marking xvii, which perhaps means that it is a reproduction of a model of the 17th century. It probably dates from the second half of the 20th century. It is in good condition, neither crack nor shine, but some marks of time: small and light stains on the top of the lid and we feel to the touch that, in places, the varnish is a little faded, or less present original, it is less smooth to the touch, mainly on and around the small handle of the lid. The interior is rather clean but an additional cleaning with the pin will be welcome if you want to store a food such as a spice, tea... The pot with its lid is 21 cm high and its maximum diameter is about 12 cm. The whole weighs just under 400 g.
