This table lamp base is carved from solid white Carrara marble. It is formed by several rectangular columns of different widths, arranged in steps forward and backward, creating a fluted profile reminiscent of a skyscraper. The stone shows the soft grey veining typical of Carrara marble on a bright white background. Chrome rods and a socket emerge from the top of the marble block, continuing the vertical lines of the base up to the bulb. The stepped and faceted profile recalls the volumes of Art Deco design inspired by skyscrapers, here reduced to a table object instead of an architectural piece. Its solid stone construction gives it real weight and presence, and its narrow base makes it suitable for a console, desk, or bedside table, where a sculptural base can stand out on its own. The geometry is graphic and not ornamental, so the lamp fits both in a clean contemporary interior and alongside more traditional furniture, where the marble softens the hardness of the stepped columns. The lampshade is not included. Height 48 cm (18.9 in), Width 12 cm (4.7 in), Depth 10 cm (3.9 in); Height of the base without socket 35 cm (13.8 in).
