Antique teapot by James Dixon & Sons – Best Britannia Metal – 19th century. Authentic antique English teapot by James Dixon & Sons, made of Best Britannia Metal, likely dating from the mid-19th century, Victorian era. The underside bears a particularly legible marking: JAMES DIXON & SONS BEST BRITANNIA METAL 71925. With the number 6 also present. The number 71925 corresponds to a reference/model number of manufacture, not a date. A very beautiful antique model with a bulbous body, long curved spout with rich relief floral decoration, intricately designed handle, and articulated lid adorned with floral decoration. Approximate dimensions: Height with lid: approx. 17–18 cm. Maximum width, including handle and spout: approx. 25 cm. Depth: approx. 13 cm. Diameter of the top opening: approx. 9.5 cm. Weight: approx. 1.025 kg. Antique/satisfactory condition, with significant defects related to its age. The teapot shows a strong patina, scratches, signs of oxidation, marks of use, and several dents on the body. Some parts of the decorative feet are broken/missing. The decoration/handle on the top of the lid also shows damage and missing parts. The interior shows significant signs of old use. This is a genuine antique piece that clearly bears the marks of its long history. It is offered primarily as a collector's item or for decoration. Please carefully examine all the photos: the defects, broken parts, and the marking on the base are photographed in detail and are an integral part of the description.
