Original art deco gouache from the 1930s, commissioned for a new york jeweler as part of a fine jewelry project. This unique prototype depicts a necklace with a stylized floral motif, composed of golden leaves and lilac and pink stones, emblematic of the geometric elegance of the era. The composition is executed in gouache and pastel on tracing paper, applied to a black background to vividly highlight the colors and volumes—a technique commonly used in jewelry design workshops of the time. This work comes from a studio collection linked to a jeweler active between 1930 and 1950 in new york. Although the artist remains unknown, the characteristics of the drawing suggest commissions for houses such as tiffany & co., van cleef & arpels, oscar heyman, and paul flato (without formal attribution). Framed under glass in an antique giltwood frame with a black mat (23 X 28 cm), the work is in excellent condition. The frame has a beautiful patina and slight signs of wear, consistent with its age. A rare testament to the creative process in luxury jewelry, between decorative art and graphic know-how.
