Magnificent antique side table in solid oak, in the style of the creations by French designer Charles Dudouyt. A unique piece with remarkable cabinetmaking work, probably made in the 1940s-1950s. Its elegant circular top with a moulded edge rests on four sculptural legs turned in a beaded style, forming a succession of generous wooden beads. The base is joined by a superb cruciform stretcher, composed of four turned crosspieces converging towards a central disc decorated with concentric circles. A particularly aesthetic geometric composition, characteristic of mid-20th century French modernist rustic furniture. Entirely made of solid oak, with traditional mortise and tenon joints and glued. The underside of the top features a cross reinforcement structure, secured by five slotted countersunk screws. Its beautiful natural patina reveals the warm tones of the oak and highlights the authenticity of this piece. A timeless piece of furniture with a pronounced sculptural character, which will naturally find its place in a vintage, contemporary interior or a country house. Condition: Good overall condition. Some signs of age and use, as well as a small crack on the edge of the top, visible in the photographs. Dimensions: Height: 62.5 cm Diameter of the top: 58 cm.
