Manufacturer: the French manufacturer Baumann (based in Colombier-Fontaine, Doubs, France) was the specialist in curved wood furniture, a technique consisting of bending the wood after steaming rather than cutting it. The brand's slogan was "Baumann, the chair of France". Created in 1901 by Emile Baumann, it is the most emblematic chair brand of its time. The factory closed its doors for good in December 2003. Like the Thonet, Kohn, Fischel and Mundus manufacturers, the Baumann brand is a label of quality and is a witness to an era rich in inventiveness.
