Marble ashtray

Difficult to determine the primary function of this beautiful object but it can find many uses today: small pocket tray, ashtray, ring sizer to hold your jewelry on the bedside table, spoon rest in the kitchen or even a paperweight on a desk...it is made of black marble with pretty and numerous white, gray, brown inclusions and shiny reflections. Rectangular in shape with a hollow oval part, slightly rounded edges and the underside also nicely worked, it is a beautiful handicraft from the 50s or 60s. It is in good general condition, smooth, soft to the touch, no damage. Scratches but has a chip on one of the corners, fortunately not excessively visible. It measures 14 cm by 10 cm with a thickness of 1.5 cm. It weighs approximately 350 g.
