A character piece for a Scandinavian living room or mid-century interior: this vintage coffee table model Pulkka, designed by Ilmari Lappalainen for ASKO (Finland, 1960s), features a sculptural brushed aluminium base, bent in a U shape and assembled with visible mechanical fixings without any visible welding, topped with a 100% original bluish smoked glass surface. Unlike the Pulkka armchair, which was produced in larger numbers and is regularly available on the vintage market, this coffee table version is rare: very few examples are currently in circulation, and it is extremely rare with its original top preserved, as many circulating examples have had their glass replaced. Dimensions: height 40 cm, width 65 cm, depth 75 cm. Condition: aluminium structure in generally good condition, authentic vintage patina, with a few normal micro-traces of use for the age of the piece. The original bluish smoked glass top has three small chips, visible in close-up photos but discreet in an overall view. No cracks: the thick, heavy glass ensures excellent stability for the whole piece. Item is unrestored, preserved in its entirely original condition.
