A pair of brutalist wall sconces in hammered and patinated iron, artwork from the 1940s-1950s. Their sober and architectural lines evoke the creations of the French school of modernist wrought iron, in the spirit of Raymond Subes or the rustic modernist productions of the mid-20th century. Each sconce features a vertical structure in hammered wrought iron, topped with a large circular dish supporting a light. The brown-black patina, nuanced with coppery reflections, highlights the manual work of the metal. Beautiful decorative effect, ideal for a brutalist, wabi-sabi, or Mediterranean interior. Old electrical wiring to be checked. Sold as a pair. Dimensions: Height: 46 cm. Overall good condition with signs of age and use consistent with its age.
