Cesca chair "overhang" by marcel breuer published by knoll in the 1960s for its client ibm (ibm labels present on chairs). In the 1950s and 1960s, knoll dusted off the offices of ibm, general motors and cbs. Based on her knowledge of architecture, florence knoll questions the layout of offices: she gets rid of corridors that eat up space, offers open spaces for more efficiency and fluidity in travel and exchanges. In creating the cesca chairs, marcel breuer sought to better celebrate the tubular steel already used for the creation of the "wassily" which led him to this cantilevered seat that will be one of the most copied models of the twentieth century. The cantilevered shape exploits the unique possibilities of tubular steel and gives the chair more flexibility and comfort. Condition: the chair has been thoroughly cleaned. The chromium shows some traces of wear, especially in the area in contact with the ground but remains in very good condition. The fabric is original and has no holes. It has slightly passed through time, which gives it a lot of cachet. This chair is also available in green and red.
