Vintage 1930s enamel shop sign, Tokyo, Japan

Very beautiful and interesting enamel sign from jspan. This industrial item dates to around 1930’s and is quality thick enamels in red and white on a pressed steel body. The sign has very interesting ‘kanji’ symbols representing the ‘tobaconist’ shop it would have hung outside. It features a rolled edge and fixing holes to top and bottom. The enamel is in excellent condition with only some small (old) loss around the fixing holes and the edges. Fantastic display piece with plants or simply hung in a plain wall. 205mm X 590mm X 10mm.
