Born in annecy in 1905, anchierri began decorating pottery as a schoolboy in paul jacquet's studio, where he also learned to turn pots and where he met the likes of albert besnard, painter and father of john. He opened his first workshop in 1926, producing a wide range of items, mainly for parisian retailers, but also for export to the usa. The wall street crash in 1931 gave rise to a new company - forah (f abrique o ré anchierri). Forah has produced utilitarian items as well as unique decorative objects. At the beginning of the second world war in 1939, the company employed 35 people, including roland brice, who later worked with fernand léger in vallauris. Anchierri closed the factory, reopening in 1946 after spending 5 years as a prisoner of war. 1957 marks the opening of a new shop on the shores of lake annecy, under the nissy brand and later another outlet in annecy-le-vieux. In 1973, he retired to provence until his death in 1987.
