Set of ten antique wine bottles from the Bordeaux region of France, dating from the 19th century. The bottles are made of exceptionally thick glass with a distinctive colour ranging from deep ruby red to reddish-brown. Where the glass is thicker, particularly towards the base, the colour becomes exceptionally dark, while the light reveals rich tones of red, amber, and brown. Each bottle features a tall cylindrical body, gently sloping shoulders, and a pronounced neck around the throat. The glass exhibits subtle irregularities and variations in colour, thickness, and shape. No visible mould seams are present, which is consistent with the traditional glass-making techniques used before the mechanised production of bottles. The bottles appear to have never been used and are in very good antique condition. As expected with antique glass, there are slight differences between the bottles as well as minor age-related marks. An unusual set of antique French bottles, particularly decorative when displayed together or placed where natural light can highlight the deep colour of the glass.
