Mario Bellini, 'Gli Scacchi' tables designed for B&B Italia in the 1970s. Modular forms inspired by chess pieces, somewhere between furniture and sculpture. Soft geometric volumes create a playful balance between function and object, characteristic of Bellini’s radical Italian design language of the 1970s. Designed to be arranged freely in space, the pieces shift between seating landscape, sculptural composition and conversation pit. This set includes one 'Queen' element and two 'Rook' elements. Price is for the set. Vintage condition with visible signs of age and use, including light pressure marks, surface wear and some damage to the plastic base on the underside.
