Louis XV Style Desk – Napoleon III Period. Superb Louis XV style desk, Napoleon III period, in ebonized wood and finely engraved brass marquetry. Its double gilt-lined top is adorned with an elegant central rococo motif. The curved uprights terminate in finely chiseled gilt bronze sconces and appliques, depicting female masks and floral ornaments. Two drawers on the front, mahogany interiors, with original lock and key. French work, circa 1880. Very good overall condition. Dimensions: Height: 75 cm. Width: 123 cm. Depth: 77 cm. A refined desk combining the grace of the Louis XV style and the luxury characteristic of the Napoleon III period.
